Verner Panton designed 'Optik' in the 1960s, a brilliant infusion of geometry, vivid color and an unprecedented sense of graphic movement. The visual effects of Optik are created by overlaying horizontal lines with concentric circles.
The fabric is reminiscent of work of the artist Vasarely, but the colors are definitely from the Panton universe: sunshine yellow/orange, red/carmine red, lilac/blue, lime/jade, blood red/red, ultramarine/violet and black/white.
Eamesbikini chair pads are handmade in the U.S.A. with contract-quality textiles. Each bikini consists of a top and bottom pad that ties in the middle (hence, The Bikini Pad). 'Optik' eamesbikinis are made from MAHARAM's authentic line of 20th Century Textiles (79% cotton, 21% polyester) with TeflonŽ finish. Dry-clean only.
