'unisol' eamesbikini

Verner Panton designed 'Unisol' in 1965. Unisol is a rhythmic pattern using horizontally and vertically compressed ellipses. It was originally designed as a knitted apparel textile.

Eamesbikini chair pads are handmade in the U.S.A. with contract-quality textiles. Each bikini consists of a top and bottom pad that ties in the middle (hence, The Bikini Pad). 'Unisol' eamesbikinis are made from MAHARAM's authentic line of 20th Century Textiles (79% cotton, 21% polyester) with TeflonŽ finish. Dry-clean only.

The Designer:
Verner Panton (1926-1998) trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen, and initially worked for Arne Jacobsen´s architectural practice. In the mid-1950s he established his own design office and is credited with the design of hundreds of ground-breaking products including the very first single-form injection-moulded plastic chair - the 'Panton Stacking Chair' - as well as the first experimental inflatable furniture. He died in 1998.
